Last week’s Met Gala was all anyone could talk about. The Gala’s ‘camp’ theme took wild to another level. The Met Gala after party was co-hosted by Kim Kardashian, Serena Williams, Travis Scott, La La Anthony and Trevor Noah. This star studded party was held at the Up and Down club in NYC and was the home for the night, to the most jaw dropping outfits, the pink carpet didn’t get to witness.
Katy Perry, known for being one of the main queens of dress up, was in her element. Arriving in style, lighting up the room in her Moschino ensemble chandelier by Jeremy Scott, decorated with 80,000 Swarovski crystals. The ensemble featured two tiers of lightbulb flames going around her waistline, topped off with a matching chandelier headpiece. Her stylist, Jamie Mizrahi definitely made this one of the most memorable outfit of the night. This piece was from the Autumn/Winter collection ’16 . But of course it did not end there. Who else would have kicked off a party, dressed as a burger other than Perry herself! Underneath the bun, the star wore a green tight fitted off the shoulder number which mimicked the lettuce. The costume certainly was eye-catching and couldn’t stop the other celebs snapping pics of the humorous garment all night. The costume also entailed a toothpick headpiece, and burger bejewelled shoes, as if the look wasn’t show stopping enough! We give Katy a 10/10 for confidence.
Perry was not the only star turning heads. The Kardashians adore dressing up for the Met Gala and are involved in a year worth of planning for the night. In particular, sisters Kim and Kylie left everyone in awe of their ice blue, shimmery looks. Kim rocked the party as a Camp Crystal girl. The vintage Mugler was a blue latex minidress which incorporated crystal embellishments and a small mesh design, on the inner part of the dress, revealing her belly button. The dress perfectly accentuated her curves and was finished with the final touch of her silver metallic wig. Some say she channelled her inner Cher. Kylies outfit transformation gave definite mermaid vibes. The Versace, turquoise hugging feathered dress was once again accompanied by her iconic statement hair wig which completely transformed the look.
